Hands up for Red Hand Day

Year 8 students at Willingdon Community School, Eastbourne, UK take part in the Red Hand Day Campaign for the fourth year.

Red Hand Day has become something of a tradition at Willingdon Community School. For the fourth year in a row students were taken of time table and spent the day learning about the lives of child soldiers around the world. They learnt when, where and why children are used in conflict. At the end of the day they were asked if they wanted to create a hand for submission to the UN. As one student commented at the end of the day "life is hard for them, we need to learn how to be that helping hand".
